‘Warley Footsteps: History, Nature & Treasure Trail’ is an afternoon of activities for the whole family to enjoy in the lovely village of Warley on Sunday 28 April from 2:00 p.m.
The Warley Green Trail through the village encompasses nature, geography and history and in the graveyard this comes together in the new information board featuring the panorama of the Norland and Sowerby hillside.
The village of Warley is home to Halifax Vandals Rugby Union Football Club.
The Club has teams for players of all ages from under 7’s to veterans and it can coach players at all levels.
Visitors are welcome to come along to matches and to some social events held at the clubhouse.
The next match day is Halifax Vandals RUFC vs Halifax RUFC on Saturday 1 September 2012 with kick off at 3:00 p.m.
The clubhouse has a bar and function room that is available for hire for private parties and events. A number of WCA events have been held here, including the very successful JubileeFest.
Warley Graveyard is a part of the Green Trail through the village; a quiet place for visitors to meander and enjoy nature and to take a seat to enjoy lovely views across the valley.
WCA has an ongoing project of the planting of fruit trees, shrubs and wild flowers here to enhance the environment and encourage wildlife.[slideshow]
The land is maintained by volunteers from New Hope Church and it would be very helpful to all if visitors to the site do not use the bins in the graveyard for litter and dog waste but use the designated bins on the adjacent village green that are provided by Calderdale Council.
