WARLEY TRAFFIC REVIEW
Following a petition organised by the Warley Community Association, over 200 residents called for speed limits in and around the village to be reduced. This resulted in a public consultation in November 2011 where resident’s views on speed limits and other traffic related issues were raised and recorded
Since then, the Association have been working with Councillors Hutson and Evans who have now ensured that all the resident’s views expressed through the consultation process have been fully taken into account by the council in their review of speed limits
The council have now concluded their deliberations and have proposed extensive changes to speed limits in the Warley Valley. These proposals are now going through due process and will be implemented in 2012
The current proposals are outlined on the map (see 'click here, below) with 20mph limits expressed in yellow
The Association have also taken the opportunity to record and consolidate resident’s views on many other aspects associated with roads, traffic and pedestrian safety and through councillors Hutson and Evans will ensure that these issues are not forgotten and are progressed with the council over the longer term. These include regular road cleaning, wall and footpath maintenance, road signage and the potential for one way systems. For further details or to raise issues please contact the Association

This exhibition held on 14 /15 January in Warley Town School was another great success for the Association. Over 200 people attended and our visitors book is now brimming over with complimentary comments.
Record numbers at Warley Christmas Fayre
The skies were grey but there was plenty to smile about at the Warley Community Association Christmas Fayre on Sat 3 December.
The first part of the Fayre was held in Warley Town School with stalls, tombolo, and activities for children. Atmosphere was provided by the bucket load. The School hall was packed, festive music rang out, gifts were sold, cakes were eaten, prizes were won... To top it all, The St John's Church Song Group sang carols around the piano and Father Christmas made a special visit to see as many children as he possible could.
Father Christmas led the way down Paradise Lane into the village to hang the children's decorations on the splendid village Christmas tree.
Part of the road has been closed so everyone could get a close-up view. The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress officially switched on the tree lights with a rousing countdown and then, once again, the St John's Church Song Group burst into hearty song, leading the thronging crowd with a few final carols.
The event had meant a long day for the organisers. Cleaning up afterwards was actually quicker than expected though. Maryke Deahl, one of the team said "we had so much help, the School was back to normal in no time". "It gave us time to reflect on the day's events" said event manager Eliana Bailey, "it was so rewarding seeing the community is supporting us and enjoying the day".
